Foundations make new ReStore truck a reality

Foundations make new ReStore truck a reality

Funding provided by several foundations has made it possible for Haywood Habitat to replace its aging ReStore truck used for donation pick-ups. The Fund for Haywood County, in partnership with The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina (CFWNC) provided $20,000. The MJ Houck Foundation, based in Sarasota, Florida, provided $7,000. The Cannon Foundation, headquartered in Concord, NC, provided the final $23,000 needed to purchase the truck. Jamye Sheppard, Executive Director of Haywood Habitat said, " These foundations exist to create positive change in communities through their support. Without their investment, this would not have been possible for us. We are grateful for these grants that will enable Haywood Habitat to leverage their support to create even more funding to provide our community with safe, affordable housing well into the future."
