For Brittany and J.D. Williams' family, homeownership is a dream come true. They will be moving into their new 1100 square foot house in Clyde's Barefoot Ridge before the dawn of the new year. Family, friends, volunteers, donors, community leaders, and Habitat staff, joined the family to celebrate the dedication of their home on Sunday, December 13th. Brittany and J.D. have overcome incredible odds to prepare for homeownership, and to make it possible to have their family together under one roof. The children wrote and the read their personal letters of appreciation, along with their parents, at the dedication. All expressed gratitude to volunteers and donors, and the joy to have a nice home in a safe neighborhood with a great yard to play in. TheWilliams' home is the 44th constructed by Haywood Habitat, who has served 53 families in its 25 year history. The house was made possible through a sponsorship provided by donors Jay and Bucky Somers. At the groundbreaking for the project about a year ago, Board President Laura Leatherwood said " The Somers family gift of sponsoring a Habitat home is an incredible display of generosity. Their gift will impact a family for generations." For the Williams family, the Somers' gift is making an incredible difference.
