Raise the Roof, an inaugural fundraising event held September 15th at Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort was a resounding success. Despite the threat of flooding from Hurricane Florence, an enthusiastic crowd came out to help raise funds to build the 50th new Haywood Habitat home. The 3 bedroom home will be built in Walton Woods, a Habitat neighborhood in Waynesville. Thanks to all of the participants in Raise the Roof, particularly the employees at Harrah's, $22,000 was raised that will be matched by the casino.
