The three Rotary clubs located in Haywood County recently joined together to raise more than $18,000 in support of the Ladies Level Up house currently being built in Waynesville. The three clubs: Waynesville Rotary, Haywood Rotary, and Sunrise Rotary applied for a Rotary district grant to match the funds they would each contribute to reach the total needed to supply plumbing, electrical work, and heating and air conditioning. Club members are also participating in building the house. The home, being built for a local mom and her children, should be completed later this year. “Our Haywood County Rotary clubs have been so generous throughout the community. We are honored and grateful that they selected a Habitat home to support at a time when the demand for our program is the greatest we’ve experienced. This will make a lifelong difference for the members of this family.”, said Jamye Sheppard, executive director.
